What zinc does
At the minimum daily dose of 2 capsules, this formula provides 10 mg of zinc (100% of the reference intake, RI). At higher doses, up to 6 capsules a day, this rises to 30 mg of zinc. The following EFSA-authorised claims apply:
- Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system
- Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis
- Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress
- Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate metabolism and to the normal metabolism of fatty acids
Please note at higher doses: the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) applies an upper limit of 25 mg of zinc a day from food and supplements combined. At doses from 5 capsules a day (= 25 mg of zinc from this supplement alone) it is wise to count other sources of zinc as well and to consult your practitioner first.
Background
This formula was composed by professionals in gut health as a combination of fibres, an amino acid (L-glutamine), an amino acid derivative (NAC), phospholipids and zinc. The choice of this composition was made on the basis of clinical working experience within orthomolecular practice.

Often combined with ImmuCell
Leaky Gut Repair and ImmuCell come from the same Natuurlijk.fit laboratory and were set up as complementary formulas. ImmuCell provides nucleotides, vitamin C, riboflavin (B2), biotin and acacia fibre — an ingredient profile that ties in with the fibre, amino acid and zinc base of Leaky Gut Repair. In practice the two formulas are regularly prescribed together, and the supplier also mentions the combination in the product information for ImmuCell.
Dosage

Suitable for
Vegetarians and vegans. Contains no preservatives, yeast, gluten, filler, wheat, soya or shellfish. The pullulan capsule is gluten-free and NON-GMO.
Not suitable, or consultation required beforehand, in case of:
